Invisalign has allowed millions of patients to straighten out their smiles without having to deal with the conspicuous metal components and irksome dietary restrictions that come with traditional braces, but you may have a few questions you\u2019d like answered before committing to the treatment. Here are a few common questions about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edfamilydental.com\/invisalign.html\">Invisalign<\/a> along with their answers!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Is Invisalign?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment that uses a sequence\nof customized clear aligners to slowly push teeth into a more ideal alignment. Each\nset of aligners is specially designed to exert pressure on the patient\u2019s teeth\nso they move a small distance toward their new positions. The patient must wear\neach set of aligners for at least twenty hours every day for two weeks before\nmoving on to the next set of aligners in the sequence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Should I Care for My Clear Aligners?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>While Invisalign is generally considered to be an easier\northodontic method than traditional braces, the patient will still need to make\na daily effort to comply with their treatment. The aligners must be worn for at\nleast twenty hours every day for the treatment to remain on schedule, and they\nmust also be cleaned regularly. Plaque and food debris trapped between the\nteeth and the aligners can cause bad breath, discoloration, and tooth decay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The patient must thoroughly rinse their aligners whenever\nthey remove them to help remove food debris as well as brush and floss before\nputting them back in. It\u2019s also important to remember to wait at least thirty\nminutes before brushing after eating so the teeth have some time to recover.\nAll in all, the patient must pay special attention to scheduling meals and\nhygiene in order to wear their aligners sufficiently each day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Long Does Invisalign Take?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The average Invisalign treatment takes about twelve months,\nbut actual treatment times vary based on the patient\u2019s situation and how well\nthey comply with the process. In many cases, minor alignment issues can be\naddressed in as few as six months while more complex cases may take eighteen\nmonths.
