These may include one or more of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Occlusal Splint:<\/strong> Your dental team will take impressions of your mouth and send them to a dental laboratory, where an orthotic device will be custom made just for you. This orthotic is designed to wear while you sleep, and will reposition your jaw, so it is aligned properly to alleviate pain and pressure due to TMJ disorder. &nbsp;Over time, you should experience an improvement in your painful symptoms.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Equilibration \/ Occlusal Adjustment: <\/strong>These options are typically used in more severe cases, or when other options are unsuccessful. They often involve adjustments to previous dental work that could be putting the jaw out of alignment, or they could also incorporate orthodontic care, an occlusal splint, or surgical treatments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember, while TMJ disorder pain can make everyday activities like eating and speaking painful or difficult, your dentist can help treat this often-debilitating condition and restore your pain-free smile.
